Each motif is first drawn individually in a studio in Zurich before the finished drawings are then arranged on the scarf or foulard and colored differently so that the designs have the greatest possible effect when worn. The silk fabrics are woven and printed in small family businesses and factories in northern Italy and then rolled by hand in Switzerland in traditional home work.
