Esther Gerber spends days or weeks drawing traditional pictures and cutting them out individually by hand. The result is unique works of art that are hard to beat in terms of finesse and precision.
In 1991, Esther Gerber discovered her first paper cutting and turned it into a hobby that combines drawing and craft. Self-taught and by attending various courses, Esther Gerber has developed further and found a wide range of subjects, ranging from traditional to modern paper cutting. Every paper cutting begins with a drawing. After years of practice, the artist has developed her very own style of depicting trees, people, landscapes and animals as silhouettes. Cut by cut, her own drawing becomes a delicate picture. This makes every paper cutting unique.
