What better way to get to know a wine than to hike through the region it comes from? From the dry Valais slopes to the balmy lake regions, Switzerland offers a wonderful variety of landscapes and grape varieties to discover. To get to know her favorite winemakers and their products, oenologist, journalist and adopted Swiss Ellen Wallace traveled the country`s roads and hiking trails. She has selected 50 picturesque itineraries that span all of Switzerland`s wine regions and invariably end with a glass of wine in hand. Each route includes information about the hike, a detailed route description with practical information, and a presentation of the cellar and a selected wine.
