Alois Carigiet (* August 30, 1902 Trun, Graubünden; † August 1, 1985 Trun) was known for his work as a Swiss painter, illustrator, lithographer and children`s book author. Three of his most famous picture books are: `Schellenursli`, `Der grosse Schnee` and `Flurina und das Wildvögelein`. The book `Schellenursli`, written by Selina Chönz, in particular, led to national fame. The Engadin connection to nature and landscape is omnipresent in Alois Carigiet`s drawings.
