Alois Carigiet (* August 30, 1902 Trun, Graubünden; † August 1, 1985 Trun) was known for his work as a Swiss painter, illustrator, lithographer and children's book author. Three of his most famous picture books are: 'Schellenursli', 'Der grosse Schnee' and 'Flurina und das Wildvögelein'. The book 'Schellenursli', written by Selina Chönz, in particular, led to national fame. The Engadin connection to nature and landscape is omnipresent in Alois Carigiet's drawings.
