30 wondrous places
Many Swiss towns and villages treat space and architecture with great care. This is a great blessing for visitors and residents alike, as this careful approach not only meets the current needs of locals, but also preserves the valuable architectural heritage that affects visitors and residents alike. This is of utmost importance for quality of life. By including these towns and villages in the ISOS, the federal inventory of Swiss heritage sites of national importance, these efforts are recognized and supported by the federal government. Switzerland Tourism also recognizes the value of this work and sees these intact sites and carefully restored building ensembles as a good opportunity for tourism communication. This booklet aims to encourage readers to consciously appreciate these beautiful townscapes and use them as focal points for inspiring excursions. It was created through a collaboration between Switzerland Tourism and the travel magazine Transhelvetica.
